West Bengal State University (WBSU) was established by the act of the West Bengal Legislative Assembly in 26th May, 2008. West Bengal State University is a new launched university located in Barasat, West Bengal, India. The Vice Chancellor of West Bengal State University is high educationist Prof. Asok Ranjan Thakur. It offers UG, PG courses are offered up to PhD level.
All the fifty-seven colleges in the territory of North 24 Parganas, which were formerly associated with the University of Calcutta, are related to this university. West Bengal State University was founded to develop human resource adequate of conforming to scientific, technological and social disputes of modernistic world.
