Vellore Institute of Technology has declared the VIT Engineering Entrance Examination (VITEEE) is an entrance exam for admission to bachelor engineering courses in Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT), Vellore, and Tamil Nadu. VIT is believed to be among the best institutes in the country for technical education. VIT was established in 1984 as Vellore Engineering College. In 2001 it got status of a university by Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD).
