Visvesvaraya National Institute of Technology Nagpur
Visvesvaraya National Institute of Technology (VNIT) Nagpur is between the institutes of National Importance in India. Formerly recognized as Visvesvaraya Regional College of Engineering (VRCE), it was launched in June 1960 with the first six Regional Engineering Colleges set up in different parts of the country for promoting technical education. The institute has been named after the eminent engineer and scientist Bharat Ratna Sir M. Visvesvaraya. On 26 June 2002, VRCE was granted the status of Deemed University and was called as Visvesvaraya National Institute of Technology (VNIT) Nagpur.
