Vardhaman Mahaveer Open University (VMOU or previously known as Kota Open University, named by a Gazette notification by the Government of Rajasthan on 21st September 2002) came into existence in 1987 as a pioneering institution for open learning in Rajasthan. The university centered and located at Kota and its operational jurisdiction covers to the entirely of Rajasthan. The University has six Regional Centers and twenty-four Study Centers considering a study centre in Delhi. It is associated with UGC and Distance education Council.
