Purvanchal University (renamed as Veer Bahadur Singh Purvanchal University Jaunpur was founded on 2nd October 1987 as an associating university under U.P. state university act 1973. The university came out as one of the contributing universities of the nation. It is offering various UG and PG courses in the field of Engineering, Technology and management. It is also offering new courses like B. Pharm, B. Tech. in Instrumentation, Mechanical & IT, M. Sc. (Applied Biochemistry, Applied Microbiology & Environmental Sciences), MBA (Agri-Business), and MBA (E-Commerce). In addition, the university has introduced a number of need-based PG Diploma programmes in different subject areas like Financial Management, International Business, Export Management, Stress Management, Sports Psychology, etc during the last 3 years.
