The Union Public Service Commission manage or control a Combined Limited Departmental Competitive Examination for Stenographer’s (Grade ‘B’/Grade-I) of the services like for the Section Officers Grade of Central Secretariat Service, General Cadre of Indian Foreign Service, Railway Board Secretariat Service, Central Stenographers Service and so forth. There is no specific educational qualification that one requires to apply for this job and neither is any particular age limit.
Selection Process and Syllabus:
A candidate has to appear for two parts of the exam and each of these are essay type answers. The syllabus broadly covers noting and précis writing, the procedures and practices followed in the Government of India and General Studies. Paper B comprises of an assessment of the five years of CRS and carries 100 marks.
