Education is one of UNESCO’s principal areas of activities. Since its conception in 1945, the Organization has exploited to ameliorate education worldwide conceiving it to be key to social and economic growth. The Organization goals to help build a sustainable world with just societies that value knowledge, encourage peace, observe diversity and defend human rights, attained by rendering Education for All (EFA). Its close links with education ministries and other partners in 193 countries place UNESCO in a key position to press for accomplish and change. The Education Sector contains some 400 staff members worldwide. They are founded at UNESCO’s headquarters in Paris, in field offices and UNESCO’s Institutes and Centers specialized in education.
