The National Educational Testing Bureau of University Grants Commission (UGC) carries on National Eligibility Test (NET) to Establish after an investigation, eligibility for lectureship and for award of Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) for Indian nationals in order to make certain in the future minimum standards for the entrants in the teaching profession and research.
Eligibility for NET 2011
Candidates who have secured at least 55% marks (without rounding off) in Masters Degree OR equivalent examination from Universities/Institutions recognized by UGC in Humanities (including languages) and Social Sciences, Computer Science & Applications, Electronic Science etc
NET Schedule for NET 2011
UGC conducts NET twice a year, i.e., in the months of June and December.
Application form
Candidate seeking admission to the Test must apply online. The candidates are required to download the Bank Challan Performa from the website OR take photocopy from the UGC-NET Notification to be published in the Employment News

Application Submission Start Date: last week of March, 2011
Application Submission End Date: last week of April, 2011
Last date for receiving the documents* at the test center: last week of April, 2011
UGC NET 2010 Examination Date: last week of June, 2011
