Sri Krishnadevaraya University had its origin as the Post Graduate centre of Sri Venkateswara University in the year 1968. At the University College, Anantapur, and at the Post Graduate centre, Kurnool Post-Graduate courses and research programmes are currently offered. The University College provides thirty-eight PG courses by 28 divisions. Eleven PG courses are being poffered at the P.G. centre, Kurnool by eight sections. It has acquired liberty in the year 1976. Satisfying the wishes of the people of the area, the sovereign Post Graduate centre was given the position of the University in the Year 1981. Initially, Sri Krishndevaraya University worked as a unitary residential University. It was awarded the position of an associating University in the year 1987. Presently, it is providing to the higher educational demands of the dominions of Anantapur and Kurnool.
