Sant Longowal Institute of Engineering and Technology (SLIET) is a sovereign body, set up by Ministry Of Human Resource and Development (MHRD) and fully provided by the Govt. of India. The institute grants its own certificates and Diplomas approved and recognized by AICTE, New Delhi. Undergraduate and Postgraduate courses are associated to Punjab Technical University (PTU), Jalandhar. Ph.D. programmes have also been commenced in collaboration with PTU and other neighboring Universities. The admission to all the courses in Sant Longowal Institute of Engineering and Technology are through a National Level SLIET Entrance Test 2011 (SET). Sant Longowal Institute of Engineering and Technology (SLIET) will conduct entrance exams in 2011 for following programmes, details are given below:-
Degree courses offered by the institution at B. Tech. level
Chemical Technology with specialization in Polymer Technology
Chemical Technology with specialization in Paper Technology
Computer Science & Engineering;
Electronics & Communication Engineering;
Food Technology;
Instrumentation & Control Engineering;
Mechanical Engineering with specialization in Manufacturing Engineering;
Mechanical Engineering with specialization in Welding Technology;
Eligibility:
A candidate must have passed B.E./ Bsc./ B.Tech with atleast 50% in PCM for general category students. SC/ST candidates need to have atleast 45% aggregate in PCM.

How to apply
After filling the application form, applicant can submit application along with all essential enclosures and Fee through DD to admission office of institute before the last date of Receipt application form.
Selection Process
The Selection of the Candidate is based on Personal interview and written admission test. The Selection of the candidate is also based on the rules and regulation of the Sant Longowal Institute of Engineering and Technology.
