Shibli National Post-Graduate College (SNPGC) was based in 1883 by the great oriental scholar; is a minority (Muslim) institution of higher education. The college is associated to Purvanchal University. It is the smallest Muslim educational institution in the country after Aligarh Muslim University. The SNPGC is run by Azamgarh Muslim Education Society which comprises of the cream of the clerisy in Azamgarh and people of Azamgarh origin in other parts of the country. The current chairman of the society is Alhaj Abu Saleh Ansari.
