Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology, J & K was achieved in the year 1982 with the objectives of catering to the explore, education and extension education demands of the state. The entire educational substructure like colleges of Agriculture, Veterinary and Forestry came up in Kashmir state only and major substructure for explore and denotation was also educated in the same region.
About Admissions
The admissions of students to various programs are made strictly according to the provisions of the Academic Regulations of the university and amended from time to time taking into considerations the guidelines/norms prescribed by the state Government and the Indian Council of Agriculture Research (ICAR).

Facilities:
The Chatha or the RakhChatha was identified as the most suited site for the main campus of the university. It is here that the Faculty of Agriculture has been acquired for the University. The R.S.Pura campus has been recast to house the full-fledged Faculty of Veterinary Sciences.
