It has been jointly encouraged and possessed by contributing Banks and Financial Institutions viz., IDBI Bank Ltd., ICICI Bank Ltd., SU-UTI, IFCI Ltd., LIC, GIC, NIA, NIC, UIC, and TOICL, all leaders in their areas of business. SHCIL set out by bidding protective and post trading services, adding deposit services and other services to its function over a period of time. SHCIL has founded itself in India as a one-stop solution supplier in the Financial Services domain. SHCIL is currently serving customers in document management and digitization of records using document management platform. The company considers some of the IT companies of India among its customers. Government of India, Ministry of Finance, and Department of Economic Affairs appointed SHCIL to act as Central Record Keeping Agency (CRA).
