HighMAT means High Performance Media Access Technology. This engineering create it simple to save personal digital music, video and photo accumulations produced on your PC to disc The HMT file type is primarily related with ‘HighMAT’ via Microsoft Corporation. HighMAT is a way for media formats like JPG, MP3, WMA, WMV and MPEG-4 to be prepared and wrote on a CD. DVD support is planned. Added June 2007: Microsoft has discontinued development on the HighMAT technology. Therefore, the HighMAT extension to the Microsoft Windows XP CD Writing Wizard is no longer providing via using Windows Update. Files with the .hmt extension are manufactured by Microsoft Corporation and Matsushita Electric Industrial Co., Ltd. (Panasonic). Roxio and Sonic Results software also affirm the .hmt file format in their DVD and CD players and recorders.
