Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER) it was established as an institute of national importance by an Act of Parliament. PGIMER was conceived in 1960 as a center of excellence which would attempt to arise practices of teaching in graduate medical education in as many branches as potential and attempt to develop specializers in several conditions of medicine.
