Physical Research Laboratory Navrangpura Ahmedabad
PRL is a sovereign institution under the Department of Space and was founded in 1947. The current fields of experiment at PRL are Astronomy and Astrophysics, Earth Sciences, Planetary Sciences & Exploration, Space and Atmospheric Sciences, Theoretical Physics, and Experimental Laser and Atomic Physics. It has 2 fields at Ahmedabad and astronomical and solar lookouts at Mt. Abu and Udaipur respectively. PRL is also engaged in taking extensive academic programmes for Doctoral and Post Doctoral research and also has an Associateship programme for university teachers. It is also obligated with the direction of the Udaipur Solar Observatory (USO).
