Washington University in St Louis dates back to 1853 and the business school was instituted in 1917, primarily as an undergraduate school. It contributed an MBA in 1950. The John M Olin School of Business, appointed in 1988 in award of the chairman of the Olin Corporation, a major benefactor of Washington University, has an inviolable research base and beneficial contacts with industry. St Louis is a center for prominent US potbellies and the school has a goodness range of imposing speakers. Olin is a full-range school, teaching business matters from undergraduate to doctorate level. It is quite a little, with just under 800 undergraduate students and around 900 masters’ and doctoral students.
