NSDL TIN
Tax Information Network (TIN), a depository of nationwide Tax concerned information, has been launched by National Securities Depository Limited on place of Income Tax Department of India (ITD). TIN is an initiative by ITD for the modernisation of the present system for collection, treating, supervising and accounting of direct taxes using information technology. NSDL, the first and biggest depository in India, launched in August 1996 and promoted by institutions of national stature responsible for economic growth of the country has since launched a national infrastructure of international standards that handles most of the securities held and located in vanished form in the Indian capital market.
