NRDC Awards
The National Research Development Corporation (NRDC) on Friday awarded 5 teams for their specific creations in the areas of agriculture, engineering and medical sciences.
The awards were given on place of the Department of Science and Industrial Research (DSIR), Ministry of Science and Technology. The 1st invention, to be congratulated by a cash prize of Rs 2 lakh, was the growth of a continuous film contractor to be used in the procedures for handling several hydrocarbon fields with caustic or amines to get rid of unwanted components such as mercaptans and napthenic acids.
The 2nd creation, awarded Rs 1 lakh, was a full garlic peeling machine for aims of high quality in the pickle industry. The 3rd creation, which also got Rs 1 lakh, was the growth of the Vivek thresher for finger and barnyard millet to efficaciously overcome the drudgery of traditional threshing. The 4th award of Rs 60,000 went for the evolution of a membrane oxygenator, a medical device for cardiac surgery.
