Introduction
National Institute of Technology Agartala is the only degree level engineering college in the state of Tripura and one of six degree and drunker level Technical Institutes in the complete of the North-Eastern region. After the institution of Tripura University, the college was related to Tripura University. National Institute of Technology Agartala was formerly known as Tripura Engineering College. At the time of its beginning, Tripura Engineering College, extended courses in Civil, Electrical and Mechanical Engineering and the curriculum structure and examination system was at par with Bengal Engineering College. The central government has upgraded Tripura Engineering College to the category of National Institute of Technology and the institute has been allowed the status of Deemed University.
