NIMCET 2011 National Institute of Technology MCA Common Entrance Test
NIMCET 2011 is an entrance examination will be taken in 2011 by National Institute of Technology’s for admission to the 1st year of their MCA courses. A huge number of students from throughout India appear for NIMCET to acquire admission in the best NITs for MCA course. NIMCET is among the tough national level entrance test taken by NITs for admission to their MCA program. The admission of the appliers to MCA program provided by all the NITs will be based on the rank got in NIMCET.
Eligibility Criteria:
Candidate must have a minimum of 60% aggregate or in 12th as well as Graduation. For SC/ST candidates they should have got at least 55% aggregate of 6/10 CGPA. Candidates must also have studied Maths/Statistics/Business Maths in Graduation as well as 12th.
Availability of the application:
NIMCET application form will be available from the 3rd week of the month of March 2011. Students may got the application form from the various NITs centers or may online fill the application form.
How to apply for NIMCET 2011:
Candidates are needed to fill an online form. After filling the form they need to take a print out and send it along with the photocopies of the selected enclosures and a DD. The URL where the candidate may apply for the examination will be available after the release of the notification.
NIMCET Test Centers:
Exam will be held at NIT Agartala, MNIT Allahabad, MANIT Bhopal, NIT Calicut, NIT Durgapur, NIT Hamirpur, NIT Jaipur, NIT Jalandhar, NIT Jamshedpur, NIT Kurukshetra, VNIT Nagpur, NIT Patna, NIT Raipur, NIT Rourkela, NIT Silchar, NIT Srinagar, NIT Surat, NIT Surathkal, NIT Tiruchirapalli and NIT Warangal.
Pattern of examination:
The Exam will be of two hours and there will be one hundred twenty multiple choice questions with 4 choices of each question. Each right answer will carry four marks and wrong answer will attract one minus mark.
Questions will be distributed as follows:
Mathematics – 40 questions
Computer awareness – 10 questions
Analytical ability and Logical Reasoning -55 questions
General English – 15 questions
Important Dates (Tentative):
Date of Entrance Examination: third week of May, 2011
Availability of Application Forms: 3rd week of March, 2011
Last Date for receipt of completed application forms: mid of third week of April, 2011
Announcement of Results: last week of May, 2011
Selection process
NIMCET 2011 scores will be applied for short listing of candidates for 2 year full-time Master Programme in Computer Application MCA.
