NERIST (North Eastern Regional Institute of Science and Technology) is located on the infantry-hills of east Himalayan range, in Dikrong river valley, near Itanagar, Arunachal Pradesh. The North Eastern Regional Institute of Science & Technology (NERIST) was establish by the Government of India and its foundation stone was laid by Shri Giani Zail Singh, the then President of India, on 4th March, 1984.
NERIST is providing non-conventional and modern academic programme in the modular Diploma and Degree with diverse specializations in Agriculture Engineering, Civil Engineering, Computer Science & Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Forestry. The Institute renders the central facilities like Institute Library, Training & Placement Cell, Seminar Hall, Advanced Central Computing Facility, Central Research Facility, Education Technology Cell, Gymkhana etc.
