Introduction
North Eastern Electric Power Corporation Limited (NEEPCO), a Schedule “A” Government of India Enterprise under the Ministry of Power was set up on the 2nd of April, 1976 to plan, investigate, design, construct, generate, operate and maintain power stations in the North Eastern Region of the country.
The Disinvestment Commission has recommended that Government of India exit from the North Eastern Electric Power Corporation and sells it to a strategic partner through competitive bidding route or merges it with any of the Central power sector utilities.
Corporate Office
The corporate Office of NEEPCO is settled at a pleasing green area of Shillong, a charming metropolis tucked away in the vibrant hills of north eastern India. The Corporate Office also boasts of a Library & Information Centre to provide to the intellectual demands of the employees.
