Introduction
National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development is an apex development bank in India. In affiliation with the Ministry of Finance of India, National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development attempts to streamline rules for the country’s microfinance sector.

The basic functions of National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development are to develop the credit and banking policy for the rural sector, to monitor and conduct on-site inspections of cooperatives and regional rural banks and to encourage the development of microfinance actions in the agrarian sector.
