Nagaland Board of School Education started its An event that is a beginning; a first part or stage of subsequent events in the year 1974, is a statutory body of the government of Nagaland, which conducts the school Examinations in the state. The NBSE manage or control the HSLC Examination 1988 on the new syllabus based on the national core curriculum. The HSSLC and HSLC examinations are two years course which are Divided into or made up of two parts into two-one year course and the examinations are held at the end of each year.

The Board conducts the following examinations in accordance with the prescribed curricula and syllabi of the Board

Class -11 Promotion Examinations.
HSLC Examination
Class – 9 Promotion Examinations
National Talent Search Test (State level)
Joint Entrance Examination for technical lines.
