Motilal Nehru National Institute of Technology (MNNIT) Allahabad was set up in the year of 1961 by the Government of India and the Government of Uttar Pradesh. The institute was before known with the name of Motilal Nehru Regional Engineering College, Allahabad. In 2002, MNNIT Allahabad acquired the status of Deemed University. Motilal Nehru National Institute of Technology renders several degree programs in the engineering subject to the students. MNNIT Allahabad takes almost 500 students to undergraduate programs and another 150 students to postgraduate programs every year. MNNIT will conduct entrance exams in 2011 for following programmes, details are given below:-

Eligibility for MCA program:-
Applicants must have pass with minimum aggregate of 60% in the under mentioned “Bachelor’s Degree” of any university or equivalent or must have mathematics as a subject or in 10+2 examination.
Eligibility Criteria for M.E. program:-
A candidate must have passed B.E./ Bsc./ B.Tech with atleast 50% in PCM for general category students. SC/ST candidates need to have atleast 45% aggregate in PCM.
Eligibility Criteria for BE/ B.Tech Exam:
A candidate must have Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics along with English in class 12th with an aggregate of atleast 50% in PCM for general category students. SC/ST candidates need to have atleast 45% aggregate in PCM.
Application Form:
Candidates may download the Application Form. After completing the form, send it to the Admissions Officer along with a DD. The form can also be obtained from the counter or by the post. The filled application forms should be sent by post to the institute office.
Admission Procedure: The admissions to the engineering seats of this institute will be through NIMCET 2011. For admission into the MBA section, students are asked to appear for Common Admission Test.
NIMCET 2011 Exam Pattern:
The test paper will be of 120 multiple choice questions. It will deal Mathematics for 40 questions, Analytical Ability & Logical Reasoning for fifty-five questions, Computer Awareness for ten questions and General English for fifteen questions. The candidate will get 4 marks for every right answer and 1 mark will be taken off for every incorrect answer.
