The Punjab State Cooperative Milk Producers Federation Limited is known as MILKFED Punjab came into being in 1973. Milkfed of Punjab is digging into openings for establishing joint projects in dairy farming with Fonterra-New Zealand’s biggest Dairy Cooperative. 2-member team of Fonterra constituting David Broad, General Manager International Operation and Mr Hamish Govans, Sales Manager visited Punjab on letter from Milkfed in this respect. The establishment of the administration is a 3 level system, Milk Producers Cooperative Societies at the village level, Milk Unions at District Level and Milk Federation as a vertex Body at State level. Milkfed is bearing a Frozen Semen Station at Khanna, (Dist. Ludhiana) with modern semen treating services. This station has been granted Grade “A” by Govt. of India’s special Technical rating Team.
