Introduction
The Medical Council of India was set up by the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956, improve in 1993. The Council is authorized to make ordinance associating to: The council is authorized to dictate minimum standards for medical education necessary for granting founded medical qualifications by universities or medical institutions in India.
The course and period of study, including length of practical training to be attempted, the subjects of examination, and the standards of technique therein to be found in universities or medical institutions for grant of instituted medical qualifications;
The Council is also accountable to give its passports to the Central Government for founding new medical colleges, opening of new or higher courses of study and increase in admission capacity in any courses of study or training.The standard of staff, equipment, adjustment, training and other facilities for medical education; and The conduction of professional examinations, qualifications of examiners, and the considerations of admissions to much examinations.
