The Centre for Distance Education (CDE) of Bharathidasan University (BDU) was launched in the year 1992, earlier intended to provide to the students of the University area who could not enter the regular colleges for higher studies. Subsequently, the area of Centre for Distance Education was extended to cover whole India.
