Introduction
Mahatma Gandhi University Kottayam successful its inception on 2nd October, 1983 with attempts of the Government of Kerala.The University campus is located at the Priyadarsini mounds which is 13 km away from Kottayam Railway Station and 4 km away from Ettumannoor.

The Kottayam Mahatma Gandhi University has its legal power over Pathanamthitta District, Revenue Districts of Kottayam, Ernakulam and Idukki and Alappuzha. It offers high, post graduate and M.Phil/ Ph.D. degrees in different fields. In order to keep at par with the foreign standards, the university has entered into ties.
