Pondicherry Dental College and Hospital was founded in the year 1990. It was called and upgraded to Mahatma Gandhi Postgraduate Institute of Dental Sciences in 2005.
Mahatma Gandhi Medical College & Research Institute provides 5 years bachelor’s degree courses in MBBS. It is also offering Bachelor of Dental Surgery (B.D.S) and Post Graduate Courses in Dental Sciences (M.D.S) in addition it offering some certificate courses also.
Admission to this course is prepared by a merit list set up on the ground of the score of the candidates in the JET – Joint Entrance Test. In this course the reservation available to different reserved classes like SC, ST and OBC is as per the Government of India norms. The institution is recognized by the Medical Council of India, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare of Government of India, and the Government of Puducherry.
