The Mahatma Gandhi Antarrashtriya Hindi Vishwavidyalaya is an Indian central university Brought about or set up or accepted; especially long established for the promotion and development of Hindi language and literature, through teaching and research. For admission in the above mentioned courses except Ph.D. the university will conduct a written test at various centres (Wardha, Bhopal, Hyderabad, Delhi, Allahabad, Patna, and Kolkata). Eligibility
For MA
Eligibility: Graduation with 50% marks in any discipline from a recognized university/institution (For SC/ST candidates 45%). Desirable: For M.A. Hindi (Translation Technology) candidates should have knowledge of English & Hindi languages.
For Master of Informatics and Language Engineering (MILE): Eligibility: The candidates should have a Bachelors Degree with 50% marks (For SC/ST candidates 45%) in Computer Science/Information Technology from a recognized university. [OR] Graduate from recognized university with 50% marks (for SC/ST candidates 45%) and
Diploma in Computer Application/Language Technology. Desirable: Knowledge of Hindi & English Languages.
For M.Phil
Eligibility: Masters Degree with 55% marks in concerned subject (for SC/ST 50%) or in any allied/cognate discipline
For PhD
Eligibility: Masters Degree with 55% marks (for SC/ST 50%) in Computational Linguistics/Language Technology/Translation Technology from any recognized university with knowledge of Programming Language. [OR] Masters Degree with 55% marks (for SC/ST 50%) in Linguistics/Applied Linguistics from any recognized university with Degree/Diploma in Computer Science/ Information Technology. [OR] M.Tech. /MCA/M.Sc. with 55% marks (for SC/ST 50%) in Computer Science/
Information Technology or MILE from any recognized university.

Sir,
I studied B.A. with History, Economics and English Literature with Hindi as second language. I did not get 50% marks in degree but I have got 50% in Hindi. I did my degree in 1977. Can I do MA Hindi through distance education?
