Library and Information Science Degrees
Library and Information science is an interdisciplinary field that applies the practices, perspectives, and tools of management, information technology, education, and other areas to libraries; the collection, organization, preservation, and dissemination of information resources; and the political economy of information.
The Library and Information Science Program at Pitt covers an array of graduate degree programs and specializations planned to change students for careers in this critical occupation. We offer one of the most recognized programs in the nation. Our Master of Library and Information Science (MLIS) degree is appointed by the American Library Association (ALA). Since an ALA accreditation is demanded by a majority of employers for athlete attitudes, adjusting from an ALA-accredited program combines your career mobility and flexibility.
