Kota Open University (Vardhman Mahaveer Open University) came into existence in 7thNovember, 1987. Located in Kota, Rajasthan its jurisdiction prevail over the whole of Rajasthan. The institution is regarded as State University and it is also the member of The Association of Indian Universities (AIU). The University has its legal power in the whole of the state of Rajasthan. The University also has six Regional Centers and twenty-four Study Centers adding a study centre in Delhi. Yet, the University Library has above 75,000 volumes on various subjects and seventy-five international and national journals. At present it is providing eighty Academic Programmes which include Ph.D., M.Phil, Post Graduation, Graduation, P.G. Diploma, Diploma and Certificate Programmes.
