The K. C. Mahindra Education Trust was set up by the late Mr. K. C. Mahindra in the year 1953, with the aim of encouraging literacy and higher learning in the nation.
Above the years, K.C. Mahindra Education Trust has undertaken a number of education initiatives, which make a quality in the lives of deserving and poor students. The trust has rendered more than Rs. 424.20 million (8.48 million $) in the form of grants, scholarships and loans. These funds are educed from the trusts investment portfolio, the main donator of which is the Mahindra group of companies. K. C. Mahindra instituted this Trust for encouraging education among Indian Nationals. The subjects admitted Humanities, are Engineering, Natural Sciences and Medicine and other emerging fields associated to Science and Technology including the study of Military, Naval and Aviation Sciences.
It is registered as a public Charitable Trust under the Bombay Public Trusts Act, 1950.
