Introduction
Karnatak University had its official inaugural in March 1950. Covering a vast surface area of 750 acres on the hill named ‘Chota Mahabaleshwar’ one of seven hillocks on which Dharwad is beautifully rested inviting compare with Rome; the University has its own ambiance with a sylvan setting of undulating greenery. Founded initially at Mumbai in 1949, the location was shifted to Dharwad in October, 1949.
