JIPMER MBBS 2011 Entrance Exam
Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research is a prime institute rendering medical education in India. It is situated in the western entrance of Pondicherry. JIPMER is associated to the Pondicherry University. The main purpose of JIPMER is to contribute superior education in undergraduate and postgraduate courses but it is also active in research in several fields of modernistic medicine. JPMIR is conducting an entrance exam in 2011 for giving admission in following courses, eligibility and other details are given below:-
JIPMER Undergraduate courses:
MBBS, B.Sc. Medical laboratory Technology,
B.M.R.Sc. (Bachelor of Medical record Science)
JIPMER Post Graduate courses:
M.D., M.S. and Diploma,
M.Sc. in Medical Biochemistry and Ph.D. full time
JIPMER Super specialty courses:
M.Ch. in cardio thoracic surgery,
M.ch in urology
Certificate course and higher diploma course in French, MRO and MRT courses
Duration
Duration of the course is 4 years and 6 months as per the Academic Calendar of Pondicherry University followed by 1 year of Compulsory Rotatary Internship.
Eligibility for JIPMER MBBS: Candidates who are appearing in the 12th standard or have cleared the examination with 50% marks in PCB (40% for SC/ST candidates) are eligible to sit in the MBBS entrance of Jawaharlal Institute of Post Graduate Medical research and Training. There are 75 seats for the MBBS course out of which 20 seats are reserved for Pondicherry natives.
Application process
Application forms can send with a DD prescribed amount drawn from any nationalized bank in favor of the Accounts Officer, JIPMER, Puducherry payable at Puducherry. The handicapped candidates must send their medical certificate and SC/ST candidates must send community certificate along with the DD and application form.
Examination Centers: The MBBS entrance test will be held at Puducherry, Chennai Hyderabad, Delhi, Kolkata and Thiruvanthapuram.
Important dates tentative
Application forms are available from Mid February 2011
Submit the application forms by the end of March, 2011
Hall tickets will be issued by the second week of May 2011
The entrance exam will take place around second week of June, 2011
Results will be declared by the third week of June 2011
New academic session will commence from Mid July 2011
JIPMER MBBS Entrance Test Pattern
The entrance test will be based on Class 11 and 12 standards of CBSE /Higher Secondary syllabus. The question paper contains multiple choice questions of 200 marks on subjects like, English, Physics, Chemistry, Botany and Zoology.
