Introduction
Jamia Millia Islamia was intelligent during the exemption movement in 1920, in response to Mahatma Gandhi’s call for boycotting educational institutions assisted and controlled by the British. , Jamia Millia Islamia was declared a deemed university and in 1988 it was declared a Central University by an act of Parliament, the Jamia Millia Islamia Act. It has 29 departments and 121 courses are offered at the gradation and post- graduation levels. It carried out Mahatma Gandhi’s programme of Basic Education in its Teachers’
Training College and structured a network of mature education centres in Delhi.
