Introduction
Jai Prakash Vishwavidyalaya (University) was launched on 22.11.90 by the part of Section 3(b) of Bihar State Universities Act, 1976 with its Head Quarters at Chapra, after Carving it out from the then, Bihar University (now B.R.A. Bihar University) Muzaffarpur. There are wholly 21 constitute Colleges, 2 affiliated deficit Grant Colleges (including one minority college) and 10 affiliated Colleges. The courses offered by the university are authorized from University Grants board (UGC) of India. Since its institution the university is straining hard to improve the statements of people living in Saran division.
