Introduction
Industrial Toxicology Research Centre conducts rating of the chemicals used in industry, agriculture and day-to-day life, studying the action of chemical pollutants, and developing remedial/preventive measures. The centre has waste water analysis laboratory, library, animal house, and modern labs. ITRC publishes bulletins like Industrial Toxicology Bulletin, Current Literature in Toxicology with Abstracts, Toxicity testing protocols, Toxicity Data Handbook Series, and Toxicology Atlas.
The ITRC offers training courses in water quality assessment, consultancy services, technologies, project guidance for engineering organizations, low cost water purification device (SST), and portable water analysis kit (for companies). The centre now focuses on neuro-toxicology, environmental health, eco-toxicology, photo-toxicology, phyto-toxicology, epidemiology, immunotoxicology, developmental toxicology, cardiovascular toxicology, pulmonary toxicology, environmental carcinogenesis, environmental monitoring and environmental biotechnology.
