IOPB Bhubaneswar
Introduction
The Institute Of Physics, Bhubaneswar is an independent research institution invested collectively by the Department of Atomic Energy (DAE) and the Government of Orissa. The Institute was formally launched in 1972 by the Government of Orissa, and enrolled in 1972 as a enrolled society under societies Registration Act 1860. The Institute commenced functioning under the position of Prof. T. Pradhan in 1974 in two chartered rooms of the Utkal University Guest House. After a few months, the Institute proceeded to a chartered house in Sahid Nagar, Bhubaneswar where its academic actions got commenced in January 1975 with two faculty also the then Director, Prof. T. Pradhan. From 1974 to 1981, the Institute functioned in chartered buildings and motivated to its present campus in 1981.
