Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) was founded in 1985. IGNOU creates use the Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) extensively for contributing education. IGNOU is the most prominent Open University and 5th most prominent University in the World. IGNOU played a vital role in the establishment of Distance Education Council (DEC) which is responsible for founding measures in Distance Education in India. IGNOU renders 125 study programs dwelling of 1100 courses. A number of skill based programs are provided by the eleven schools of study. The educational programmes contributed by the IGNOU are thought at par with the education supplied by any other accredited institute of the country.
