Indian Veterinary Research Institute (IVRI) was founded on 9th December, 1889. At demonstrate, there are twenty-one Divisions and six Sections specialized in diverse subjects/fields. It is India’s prime advanced research service in the area of veterinary medicine and related branches. It has campuses at Mukteshwar, Bangalore, Palampur, Bhopal, Kolkata and Srinagar. Formerly known as Imperial Bacteriological Laboratory, it was named in 1925 as Imperial Veterinary Research Institute.

Research took in the fields of animal health, production and technology with Multidisciplinary approach has paid rich profits. The research contributions have assisted development of new biological used for diagnosis, prevention, cure and control of many devastating diseases of livestock and poultry, increased production of milk, meat, eggs and other animal products.
