Indian Navy is a highly reputed defence organization of the nation and is one of the most planned careers for adventuresome candidates. Being part of Indian Navy is regarded to be highly reputed. Indian Navy conducts a selection procedure for recruitment of Dockyard Apprentices in Indian Navy. The examination is held 2 times in a year in July and December. The recruitment procedure is for young candidates who have cleared their matriculate examination. Initial training to the selected candidates is given at Naval Dockyard School, Mumbai. Later the candidates get training at Naval Establishments throughout the nation. Indian Navy recruited the candidates in 2010 for Dockyard Apprentices posts, in 2011 the Indian Navy may open the vacancies for the same posts, the related details are given below:-

Eligibility criteria:
Candidates must have passed matriculate (10th) examination with science stream. There is 5 years upper age limit relaxation given to SC/ST candidates.

Essential Qualifications: Unmarried male Indian citizens are eligible.

Age limit: - 14 to 19 years of age Relax-able by 5 years for SC/ST candidates.

Physical requirements:
Weight: Candidate should have a minimum weight of 45 kg.
Height: Height should be atleast 150 cm.
Chest: Should be well developed with minimum expansion of 5 cm
Eye Sight: 6/6 to 6/9 (6/9 correctable with glasses)

How to Apply:

Admission notification is released 2 times in a year in the Employment News and all leading National/Regional Newspapers. Candidates may either send a handwritten/typed application form on an A4 size paper according to the prescribed format given in the admission notification or download the application form from the website www.nausena-bharti.nic.in.

Syllabus
(i) Mathematics (ii) General Knowledge and General Science

Selection Procedure:
First candidates will be called for screening of documents, physical measurements and medical examination to check the educational qualification and physical and medical fitness of the candidates. The candidates who clear the first procedure will be than called for a written test. Written test contains of 2 papers of 100 marks each and 3 hours duration. First paper is of Mathematics and the second paper is of General Knowledge and General Science. Candidates who pass the written test are called for interview which is conducted at Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata and Bengaluru.
