IIT JEE 2011 Indian Institute of Technology Joint Entrance Examination
Indian Institute of Technology manage or control a Joint Entrance Examination every year for the admission to B-Tech and other courses offered at the IIT Mumbai, IIT Kanpur, IIT Delhi, IIT Chennai, IIT Kharakpur, IIT Guwahati, IIT Roorkee, IT Varanasi and ISM Dhanbad. The Indian Institute of Technology Joint Entrance Examination is an yearly college entrance examination in India. The admissions to the Undergraduate Programs for all Indian and Foreign nationals at these institutions are produced by the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE). Apart from the seven IITs admission to undergraduate courses of IT-BHU, Varanasi and Indian School of Mines University, Dhanbad is also done through the Joint Engineering Entrance Exam.
Eligibility:
Candidates appearing in (10+2) or equivalent qualifying examination in 2011 must secure at least 60% (55% for SC/ST and PD) marks in aggregate in their respective Board Examination.
Current examination format
The syllabus of the examination is predominantly based on topics covered by the CBSE Board Examination (AISSCE) and the ISC Board Examination. The pattern of questions in JEE is deliberately variable so as to minimize the chance of students getting selected by cramming up the probable questions. Paper consists of two objective type papers each containing math’s, physics and chemistry sections
How to apply
Candidate can apply for JEE-2011 either On-line or Off-line.
Candidates can apply On-line, if they have access to Computer, printer and Internet at home or elsewhere, by Logging on to JEE website. Candidates can make payment On-line with credit/debit cards of major banks. Payment can also be made through challans of designated banks.
Admit cared
The admit card will bear the name, application number, registration number, photograph, signature, date of birth, address, language of Question Paper, and category of the candidate, along with name and address of the JEE Centre allotted. The admit cards will be sent by Speed Post to the address mentioned in the application form only to all those eligible candidates who have submitted valid application forms, complete in all respects and received at IITs well within the stipulated period. JEE office will not be responsible for any postal delay or irregularity resulting in non-delivery of the admit card. No duplicate admit card will be issued.
