IISC Bangalore Entrance Exam 2011
Indian Institute of Science is calling for applications for Entrance Exam (IISc) 2011 to the following (i) Research Program [Ph D / M Sc (Engg)] (ii) Course Program [ME/M Tech/M Des] (iii) Integrated Ph D Program and (iv) External Registration Program (Ph D only) at the Institute. The candidates, who have not yet finished their studies and require completing all necessities for the degree (including all examinations, dissertation projects, viva-voce etc.) before End of July, 2011 are also eligible to apply. Eligibility criteria, specialization, areas of research and the other details are given bellow:-
Course Program
ME/ Ph D / M Sc in Aerospace Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Computer Science & Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Engineering, Microelectronics, Signal Processing, Systems Science & Automation, and Telecommunication Engineering.
IISC Entrance Exam Eligibility
The applicants Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in an appropriate area of Engineering/Technology/Architecture; or Master’s degree in Science in an proper field/Agriculture/Biotechnology, Architecture; or MBBS; or M Pharma; or M V Sc, or Master’s degree in German Language; or in Economics, Geography, Social Work, Psychology, Management, Mathematics, Statistics, Operations Research, Computer Science/ Application as applicable to the respective departments.
Selection Criteria
The candidates will be selected based on their C.V. and performance in the interview. The interview will be taken at the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore, during October/November 2011, and candidates called for interview will be paid II class railway (non-AC)/bus fare by the shortest route from their home town. If the candidate assumes the fellowship, he/she should join the host Institution/University within a month’s time.
Application process
Candidates can submit their application on plain paper along with bio-data, list of publications (attach reprints of 2 important papers), copies of certificates (B.Sc., M.Sc, Ph.D./M.D./M.S.), One page synopsis of Ph.D./M.D./M.S. thesis, 2 letters of recommendation (academic). The candidates are advised to suggest his/her place of work, name of the supervisor, enclose one page synopsis of suggested research which must be compatible with the on-going research of the proposed supervisor, and his/her consent for availing the fellowship. They must also introduce a declaration stating that if selected for the fellowship, he/she will complete the tenure of the fellowship.
