Gokhale Institute of Politics & Economics it was based in 1930, the Gokhale Institute of Politics and Economics (GIPE) in Pune is one of the oldest institutions in the field of Economics education and explore in India. It got the status of a deemed university in 1993. Primarily conceived as a research center, it has acquired the status of a reputed institution in Economics.

GIPE maintains a library of the collection of thousands of books on Economics, Politics and Social Science. The library of the Gokhale Institute of Politics and Economics has one of the largest and most valuable collections of social science documents in India. Hostel facility is also offered to outstation students.
