Introduction
Guru Jambheshwar University, Hisar, was based on October 20, 1995 by an Act of the general assemblage of the State of Haryana with the objectives ‘to help and promote studies and research in emerging areas of higher education with focus on new frontiers of technology, pharmacy, environmental studies, non-ceremonious energy sources and direction studies and also to achieve excellence in these and connected fields’. It was formally inaugurated on November 1, 1995. It is assigned after Guru Jambheshwar Ji Maharaj, a saint conservationist of 15th century. Keeping in view the nature of courses offered at the university and the mandate for which it had been based the name of the university is soon going to be changed as Guru Jambheshwar university of Science & Technology.
