GIPE Pune
Introduction
Gokhale Institute of Politics and Economics (GIPE) is one of the oldest institutions for economics teaching and research in India. Primarily a research Institute, from its origin the M.A. and Ph.D degrees offered by GIPE were recognized by the University of Bombay. With the institution of the University of Poona (1949), GIPE became a component recognized institution of that University.
In 1962, recognizing its contribution to research in agrarian economic science, the University Grants Commission (UGC) selected the Institute as a Centre of Advanced Study in Agricultural Economics.
The scope was covered two years later when the UGC declared GIPE as a Centre of Advanced Study in Economics. In 1993, keeping in view its master standing and scope for further growth, the Government of India declared GIPE as ‘Deemed to be a University’.
Gokhale Institue of Politics and economic science (GIPE) was conceived by Shri Rao Bahadur Kale in 1930. In the present times it has become a premier institution of learning. It can brag of several students as well as faculty members who have left an ineradicable feeling in both national as well as international arena.Gokhale Institue of Politics and economic science was established on 6th June of the same year.

the question paper comprises of 5 sections. These are as follows:
1)reading comprehension-its pretty trivial.should not be an issue.
2) Mathematics and statistics- based more on CAT type mathematics. Stats majorly revolves around measures of central tendency, probability and basic regression and correlation.
3) economics- basic micro and macro (graduate course at places like D.U. , C.U. should be enough.
4) logic- again mainly based on pattern of MBA entrances
5)essay-I think you would be required to write on 1 out of 4-5 topics. (eg. from last year would be PDS system in India, liberalization of financial markets in India etc.)
However, this may not be the final pattern.they just might tweak it up a bit. However, I doubt they would do that.
Best of luck.
