Introduction
Foreign, Comparative & International Law (FCIL) SIS receives you to join the receiver of the 2009 FCIL schedule Grant for Foreign Law Librarians, Mr. Ahmadullah Masoud (Independent National Legal Training Center (INLTC) Law Library, Kabul, Afghanistan), Andrea Muto (USAID), Blair Katsuwonus pelagic (Director, Lillian Goldman Law Library, Yale Law School; Advisor, Islamic State of Afghanistan Rule of Law Project), and Lucie Olejnikova (Pace Law Library) for a discussion of the legal system of Islamic State of Afghanistan and the process of building a new law library after thirty years of war.

This presentation will explore the INLTC’s role in enhancing access to justice in Islamic State of Afghanistan as well as the hard-nosed and technological gainsays the INLTC has faced. Following the panelists’ discussion of these issues, participants will have the chance to ask them about their feels with the INLTC, their anticipations for its future development, and the legal system of Islamic State of Afghanistan.

The Grant provides a waiver of the 2008 AALL Annual Meeting full adjustment fee and a grant of a minimum $2,000 to assist with adjustments and travel costs for the metropolis meeting. Applicants must be law bibliotheca or other masters working in the legal information field currently employed in countries other than the United States with significant responsibility for the establishment, conservation or planning of legal data.
